The rule of thirds is where you take pictures of landscapes, pictures of the sky and pictures of a person. This rule can be used on taking pictures and also, filming, it makes a good effect and makes the picture look unique. The rule is that if you are taking a picture of the sky, the land and the horizon (where the land and sky meets) should be on the bottom third of the screen as shown on the picture on the left.
On the left i have applied the rule by having the sky on the top third of the picture and the land being on the 2/3 of the picture, this makes.
If you want to take a picture of the landscape, then the camera should also be landscape, but if you are taking a picture of a person, the picture should be portrait.
The rule of the symmetry shot is mainly compiled of 2 things which have a major effect on the shots of the image the photographer has chosen i will explain them in detail; the first thing is the symmetry shot which needs to have the image placed in such a way that it needs to be organised thoroughly so that it looks natural even though it is not, the second part is the asymmetrical shot which is almost exactly like the symmetrical shot but is has one part of the either distorted or out of place, this can be used to add emphasis one point or part of the image.
The diagonal rule
The diagonal rule works on linear elements such as roads, fences ETC. Are generally though of more eye catching and and better than the horizontal rule. The diagonal rule makes the shot look bigger in some places and in some places smaller. This shot can be used to make good effects for pictures and it also makes unique in comparison to their counterparts horizontal shot.
Balancing element
Balancing element creates an interesting and unique photo which adds an empty effect in the background compared to the image in front, this effect is special because adds emphasis on the image placed in the front which in this photo is the leaf.
